faq for Cambridge mobile disco service

Which areas do you cover?

I provide mobile disco and DJ services in Cambridge, Ely, Huntingdon, St Ives, Newmarket, and surrounding areas. I will travel further but my fee will take into account the travelling cost.

Are you insured?

Boogie Disco is member of the National Association of Disc Jockeys. This means that not only are you guaranteed a high level of professionalism, but Iím also insured for Public liability up to £10million.

Do you take playlists in advance?

Yes, I am happy to work with you on a playlist in advance of the event, but I will advise you if I feel some of your choices are not suited to a dancefloor. Remember, you are paying us for our expertise in creating a great atmosphere with (hopefully) a packed dancefloor.

Will you take requests on the night?

Yes of course Iíll take requests on the night. As long as a request is not going to clear the dancefloor Iíll play it.

How reliable are you?

I havenít missed a booking yet, so I guess that means I'm 100% reliable.

Do you have references?

Some of past clients are happy to be contacted as a reference but they will need advance notice. If youíd like to speak to some of our previous clients, let us know, and Iíll arrange it for you.

Could I meet you before our wedding?

Absolutely. In fact, I strongly advise that we do meet in advance and preferably at the venue. This type of consultation allows you to decide if I am the right DJ for your wedding reception, and also gives us a chance to ascertain exactly what your expectations and requirements are.

What happens if your DJ is ill on the night?

In the unlikely event of this happening I will arrange an alternative DJ for you. I am well connected in this industry and work with a number of agencies that can supply a DJ at short notice. I would never leave you Ďhigh and dryí.

Will I get a written contract?

All clients receive a written confirmation along with a contract detailing Terms and Conditions.

What are your requirements?

I require 2 mains plug sockets no more than 10 metres from where the DJ stand will be setup, and an area approx 10 feet wide and 5 feet deep.

What equipment do you use?

Many DJ / Disco websites will attempt to impress you with a long list of their equipment including manufacturer information and model numbers. Thatís pretty pointless really unless youíre a fellow DJ. All you need to know is that all our equipment is of a high standard, and generally it is less than 2 years old. I own everything outright, and I continually invest in the latest gear.

How long does it take you to setup and take down?

It takes us approximately 1 hour to setup and 1 hour to take down. I like to be able to get into a venue 1.5 hours before the event is due to start.

How do you dress?

The DJ will dress appropriately for the event. Itís your event so itís your choice. Black tie, smart, casual, you decide. However, please remember the DJ needs to be comfortable whilst he is working.

Are you CRB checked?

CRB checks are based on the organisation you are working for. Since the DJ is hired by an individual (i.e. you), it is impossible to have a CRB check for every event. However, the Boogie Disco DJ is also a FA qualified childrenís football coach. This means he has been fully CRB checked.

How do I pay you?

On engagement you are required to pay a 20% deposit. The balance is payable by cash on the night of the event prior to the start.
